Minelab Quatro

i have been looking at the new minelab quattro. i am in high scholl and love metaldetecting...i live in montana. and my dad lives in florida about 2 blocks from the beach. and 30 min. from sebastion inlet. i am very interested in Battlefield Archaeology so i thought this would be a great detector for all the interest and areas i am availiable to. so anyone who would like to put their 2 cents in and or opinion i would love to here it thanks alot.

Andrew, welcome to the forum. I want you to know this is a half informed opinion because I've never used the Quatro. However, I've seen posts from some guys that have tried it and compare it to the Explorer. It sounds like the Quatro lacks some bells and whistles that you really may want in a machine. I recommend you go with an Explorer. Either the new Explorer 2 or an Explorer XS. Not too much difference. Frankly, if you can afford a Quatro then why not spend a little extra and get the machine that has proven performance. My suspiscion would be that if you bought a Quatro and got good at it then it wouldn't be long until you would be buying an Explorer.
Just my opinion.
