The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

iv bought over 12 NEW High End Minelabs and countless used ones.i still have 2 under warranty! i also have 2 Elite's i use almost every day. one of my Tornado Coil cable wire is cracking from age and iv sealed it with cilicone seal and liquid tape.it works fine but wanted to have the cable replaced by Minelab.guess what....after contacting them they said they dont replace the wire..you must buy a whole NEW coil ?! now you cant tell me that a new wire cant be installed on coil! what a rip off! get ready boys,next thing will be "we dont service units anymore" just throw them away and buy a new one !!! Tesoro looks better every day!

You do realize that the coil is epoxy filled for water proofing correct? You cant get to the cable without destroying the coil. Its hard wired to an amplification chip. I've tried as I own a Sov GT and its not possible without turning the coil to FUBAR.
 
thanks Gemini, i thought the wire might be Soldared in under the screw in water proof connector.

No its not. It's actually inside the epoxy. That's just a strain relief and a waterproofing grommet. From what I gather they don't do coil repair other than cable cut backs with new connectors where the cable connects to the control box. The other reason as was told to me if they were to take a coil apart and "rebuild" the amount of labor billed and parts usage would add up to something far greater than purchasing a new coil outright would be. Oh and you're welcome.
