MInelab Sovereign GT treshold disappeared

Dear "collegues",

I would like to ask for your support or/and help. It happened that the Jack plug stuck on my GT so I needed to dismount the electrical box to be able to remove the stucked Jack parts. The first thing I needed to do is to little bit bend the plates on the plastic socket so the parts inside could easily fall out. After that I could not get them bended back to their original position. I always had a small gap between the fix plates and the bended ones.

After I could fix it, I tried it out and I relized that I lost the "treshold" volume totally. First I thought it was beacuse the new headphone I bought (HAMA HK-3031/32 ohm/20Hz-20000Hz frequency range) but I had the same result without that.

Do you guys have any ideas what have happened?

Doues anybody of you have the electrical sheme of the box?

Thanks for your cooperation!

Tihi from Hungary

:) I am sure it was not the problem. When I turn on my GT I cannot get it to make the treshold noise , but it gives you sounds when passing oabove an object. However the noise it gives it is not the same what it used to be.

How does it sound without the headphones so the speaker is working. If it sounds OK than I would suspect the headphones you are trying to use. If it has no threshold and yet seems to pick up a signal than make sure you turn up the threshold control and see if the threshold as it maybe set too low.
With different headphone the tones may change a bit from what you are used to, the same goes for some headphones you have to turn up the threshold more to for them to work.
Now if you don't plug in the headphones and there is no sound from the speaker then you are going to have to take it apart and check your connection where the headphone plugs in as when there is no headphones plugged in there should be a connection it make to the speaker wire, When the headphone plug in this connection should open up to disable the speaker and make the headphones work only. If you still have a problem then it may have to have the headphone jack replaced if you bent some of the connectors, or maybe get lucky and a electronic shop in your area could repair it. Just some ideas to try.

Also check you havn't switched to silent search by mistake, this could kill the threshold too

Hello,

Responding ffor 2 in one:

The switch is in treshold position, so it should not be a problem.

I have ordered a new Jack and replaced in the box. The tones became the same that my GT used to give to different items but the treshold. Without headphone it s still the same...no treshold noise even it is turned to maximum.

Thanks for everybody for your suggestions...it seems mission impossible:-(

When you had the box open you didn't twiddle with the two pots on the mainboard by any chance? one sets the tones and the other the threshold
