Minelab versus White's

I am looking at a Whites DFX or a Mine Lab Exploer II. Any sugestions. Will be using it at beach as well as ground. Thanks

I've had a DFX and now have an Explorer II. I've land hunted and beach hunted with both. Both are sophisticated machines and the "flagships" of their respective manufacturers. I have to give the nod to the Explorer II, for two reasons:

Depth: The Minelab goes deeper, without a doubt.

Ease of use: The Explorer II is actually (in my opinion) easier to set up and hunt successfully with than the DFX. It has less settings to fiddle with and there are fewer of them that have such a drastic effect on one another.

And then there's the question of 2 frequencies vs. 28 frequencies. When you take them into heavy mineralization, iron, and the wet salt sand, the FBS technology just plain does better.

IMHO...
