This school was built in 1924.

My buddy Ken was out of town but we had been there before. He had used the Garrett GTAx 1250 that he now owns - but was new to him then. I used a Fisher 1280x water machine. Neither of us did very well. That was last year.

Today after it rained this morning I went back to the old school. Decided to use the Platypus to cover some ground quicker. I wasn't there maybe 15 minutes and had recovered two Wheat pennies (another 1919 and a 1927). I then hit my 3rd coin:

This Mercury dime is my first silver find with the Explorer II.

I decided to switch the coils to a Sunray 8 inch for better pinpointing and separation. I picked up a couple Memorial pennies, a fishing bell sinker, 2 buttons and what I thought was a ring...turned out to be a threaded piece of pipe. Did get a few rusty items, crown caps, pulltab, nails and screws.

Best part of all this besides the silver and more Wheaties was talking to the woman in the house next door to the school. She provided me with information where the kids that went to that school played baseball, she also told me I could come there any time I want and I could detect her property if I want to do so.

Interesting that last week I talked to the Township Offices people about detecting on township property. They gave me th go ahead. The future home of our fire department is in the same field those kids played ball. Hoping the grass is not too high to get in there before they start construction of the Fire Dept. (I will have to check back with the Township to see where any dirt is taken when it gets hauled away...just in case).

Gonna spend a lot of time at that school and the ball field if the weeds aren't impossible to work with.
