Minelab xterra 705 features...

I am thinking about the Minelab xterra 705 as it is a lighter machine than what I have. But how does it compare ? how is it's recovery speed, depth, and ID capabilities ?Will it ground balance most anywhere even in California ?
I had a Fisher F 70 and loved it as it had a quick recovery speed, light weight and easy to use. Then we came across a few Tot Lots and I could not even get it to ground balance at all. My hunting friend went into the Tot Lots with ease and even found a nice Gold ring. I sold my F 70 as soon as I got home I was so frustrated. Now I want another lighter machine.

It works great, with the 5x10 HF Coil you get with it, you should be able to hit on gold easily in tot lots.

I think the X-Terra would suit you well, I use mine for beaches and parks mainly and it does wonderful. In fact I am leaving to go out now!

It is a superb detector. It is easy to use. Read the manual over and over and take diggers info tips on this forum in the frequently asked questions thread. You will be up and going like a pro. you will love the 705. I love mine. It is fricking awsome on gold too. discriminates very well. Light weight.

I agree with all the above, though its not as good as the E.Trac as a coin shooter especially on the wet beach , i have used my 705 on the dry beach near where i live and have had lots of cash with mine.
Even a gold ring and a few silver ones too.
The bulk of the Terra coil are not water proof so be careful and make sure .
I am now using mine on the beach till the end of the warm weather in the autumn and should pay for the machine a few times over.
