Ordered a new 705 yesterday and it arrived today:bouncy: Nice unit, can't wait to try it out. Think I had better read the manual first though, lots of features to learn.:surprised:

I would urge you to download Randy's book off the Minelab website also. Very informative and will help you immensely in learning the MD. HH. Tom

Congrats. on your purchase of the 705. I am sure that after you get familiar with it, you will be amazed at its ability to pick up things that others had missed. I started off with the Garrett 250 but could only find clad until my 705 arrived and since then have not only found lots more clad but over 50 Wheaties, 3 Barber Dimes, 5 Silver Rosies, 1Barber Quarter and 14 Indians, and a 1869 Shield Nickel.

I have just downloaded Randy's book and printed it out, this is going to help me a lot. What a great, informative book:clapping: I think I'll be reading for a few nights. Hope to head out in the field this weekend and give her (705) a try.

Cheers,

Defiantly read the the e-book twice

Use some headphones. I just started using headphones and doug nothing but clad yesterday no aluminum or trash. Night and day difference, just don't care for the cord. Will be getting a wireless set. Go by the tone more than the numbers. There is a major learning curve so don't get frustrated. And come here if you have any questions. We have been through it all and that makes it a lot easier. Good luck and welcome to the best line of detectors in the world.
