Mirage PI For Sale or Trade

Sven

Well-known member
I am offering some one the chance to own one of my PI metal detectors at a crazy low price.
This is my personal unit that I built 4 months ago.
Since I am now building myself a new one for land hunting, will let this one go.
Have to help keep on funding my PI project......:clapping:

My personal units use the more expensive ($10 each) RV6 sealed precision control pots unlike the low end 50 cent pots big name detector manufacturers use.
It also has a 10 turn frequency control pot to precisely dial out any EMI.

It works fantastic. Anyone who gets this unit will love it. They will not regret the purchase.

I will offer just the control box, a 4x7" oval search coil and a 8" round search coil.
This allows you to use a handle set-up of your choice. I prefer the White's s-handles.

Controlbox measures 7 1/4" x 3 1/8" x 2 1/8"

$475.00 plus shipping

I can also offer a 10.5" search coil to go along with this deal for an extra $100.

Specs etc. can be found on my website http://www.treasurelinx.com/mirage_pi.html

I accept PayPal

I will consider trades, no junk or low end machines.

I have a few questions...

What's the integrity in and around water? It does not look to be waterproof...maybe just water resistant?
I am supposing this will work well on a saltwater beach?
What type batteries are required?
Is there any warranty?
Who repairs them when needed?

Thanks!

This was not a waterproof version, land version. Coil is waterproof. But, like any other detector can be used in the water as long as the control box is not submerged.
Yes, it has been tested on Galvaston Bay, TX wet salt sand with no problems. The Mirage handles most soil conditions without the need of having a Ground balance function.
Haven't been able to crack Australian Goldfields super high mineralization that causes problems for most detectors. Working on it.

It operates on a rechargeable 3000mah Lithium-ion 12.6 volt battery pack that can be swapped out for a 12 volt 8 cell AA battery holder. On the Lithium battery run time is approx . 18-22 hours
depending upon which Pulse Width setting you have it set at.

Warranty, limited lifetime, so If I perish, that's it. Actually I can repair them, they are built to last. There are a couple others that can as well. Plus they can be upgraded with the latest down the road circuit board
if ever desired. If there is ever a problem and its not due to customer abuse, neglect, I have no problem fixing them for free, owner pays shipping charges here and return.

I don't mass produce these PI's. So I spend extra amount of time building and making sure everything is top notch.

If you want to know me, PM me your email address.

I also have this Mirage and its one of my very prized machines ,

I'm really looking forward to getting to know it :detecting:

the mirage is one of those machines, that will find things no other will , as for other P,I machines i don't know the whites TDI is hot but the mirage is not far behind that and the mirage is so light . with a good selection of coils .

Does it handle the highly mineralized red soil in Culpeper, Va. as well as the White's TDI? If it will then I would be a buyer for sure.

Charles

Would be interesting to find out, maybe one of the next builds can make a visit.
But, its mainly built as a niche gold nugget, gold jewelry hunting machine, everything else was secondary. So its not going to be as hot on silver, copper, brass
as the TDI.

I don't have a definitive price yet. Only made three for this year for several of us to play with.
Hoping to make a few more over next winter..............

With El-Nino coming this year, they say the most powerful one in 65 years, I would not mind having one to hunt the beaches in Monterey,Calif. My uncle lives there, and we hunt together. Grubstake

Grubstake... You are into having knowledge re SWENS Mirage PI. This is awesome:yikes: as you
and You and Allen have done great with various PI's. You "GOT'ca me again:stars:

No, I live in Mariposa, Ca. But my uncle lives in Monterey, I grew up there. I go over and hunt with him, when we get nice beach cuts. Grubstake

Aw ! the gold country-bet you have some good places to hunt. I was curious because because I'm in Hollister.

Most of my places were on private property, Can't hunt them anymore, some of the people passed away, property was sold, or passed on to heirs, Still have some great spots, but, I can't walk into them, because its a long ways 3 miles or more on some. My heart just won't let me. But I can still walk the beaches, its not like from going from 2000 ft to 4500ft in a short climb. Grubstake I'm in my late 60's.

Sven,

Mirage arrived and she's really not what I expected .... she's better than I expected :yikes:!

You didn't mention that the coils were unused (at least they appear to be) and as far as your craftsmanship goes, to me, it is superb. This is coming from someone that is picky, to a fault. I have no doubt that she works as good as she looks. My only regret is that I didn't get the ten inch coil, too.

I followed your advice and his morning, I ordered both the Whites, upper and lower rods. I have to wait on them to arrive before I can begin Mirage's final assembly ...

I knew from watching a few You Tube videos that Mirage has an amazing voice. So, in order to accentuate it even more, I bought her an new, external voice box, in the form of a beautiful set of Pro-Gold headphones, that I got from Reddog777, here on the forums. Thanks Reddog!

Thank you so much for allowing me to be with Mirage, Sven. I know, for sure, that we are going to have a long and fruitful relationship. :inlove:
