HI all
There was some discussion some time back about South Australian gold that the SD's could not pick up and I promised to post a picture of a specimen from this locality but I have been a bit slack and the film has been in the camera till I got it developed yesterday. The following link should take you to the photo on the Victorian prospecting site.

The Link above has not come up as a hyper link so it may me necessary to copy and paste the link for it to work.
Unfortunately the photo does not do the specimen justice. There is a lot more ironstone in the specimen than shows in the photo and the whole specimen is made up of many distinct leafy particles of gold rather than a single continuous mass. This would explain the SD's inability to detect this type of gold and why the VLF detectors which work more on a "skin efect" can easily detect this gold.
Hope all this works
Cheers and Happy New Year
