Monte Which Headphones Do You Use With Your Omega ?

Since you like using the Omega metal detector that uses the modulation circuit that makes deep targets hard to hear and close targets really loud, I was wondering which brand and type of headphones you use? I read something about an "limiter circuit" that some headphones makers use to help reduce the loudness of surface targets. I sure don't want to get my ears blasted by close surface targets, because I had to turn up the volume really high to hear the faint sounding deep targets.

Monte you have got me thinking really hard about pulling the trigger on a Omega.

I am not Monte obviously but I use Sunray pro golds. They have a volume adjuster on both ears. They work really well in all my machines I use!

I've already looked at those, but the statement below gave me pause. I want to know how they work with the Omega specifically?

"New" Enhanced Limiter Circuit with on/off switch (left side). (For more pronounced reduction in loud blasts from surface targets, while allowing the faintest of signal responses to be clearly heard. Limiter results will vary from one detector model to another.)"

Not Monte either :) but I use a pair of Jolly Rogers with my Omega no problem hearing a signal yet.

Thanks guys. I just want to know what my best choices are in a good set of headphones. The modulation circuit on the Omega got me to wondering which headphones would work best to enable me to hear the very faint sounding deep targets, but not blow my eardrums out when I come across a close surface target.

G2 or T2 or Delta or MXT Pro or XLT or M6 or almost everything I have owned in the past decade or will own as time goes on, my #1 pick is really two almost identical headphones. The Killer B 'Wasp' and SunRay Pro Gold, both made by B&B Distributors have an excellent fit, don't flop around or fall off, don't pressure my ears, provide me with a toggle to limit loud audio response (which I seldom use), and excellent independent earcup Volume control (which I usually keep at maximum). There are very minor differences, but the audio response quality from their 150 ohm speakers it simply top notch.

The comment about a modulated audio can spark an interesting discussions by itself. :) yes, I like the Omega, and gamma, and G2 and T2. matter of fact, I like some of the competitor's models, too, like the White's MXT and M6 and XLT and XL Pro and.... Well, there could be a good list, but the thing about what I like most an want to use most of the time is that they have a modulated audio response. Some are what you might call "fully modulated" like the IDX Pro or Tesoro Bandido II

Monte thank you so much for going to the trouble to explain headphones to me. :)
