Last spring I did several mods to my Ames 7in1:
1 Welded on a point
2 Dulled the "twine cuttter" so that it wouldn't cut my headphone cord
3 Added serrations on the "smooth" side
Shortly after...I hooked a root and broke it.:veryangry:
I bought a Leshe.
Now that Winter has apparently arrived...time to get the Ames back in working order. I welded on a handle (might be too long) with a "palm plate". The large surface on the end of the Ames handle is something I really miss when using my Lesche.
Then I used Plasti Dip on it. The spray on version might have worked better.
I now have a spare digger and some experience for adding a "palm plate" to my Lesche.
