Played out? not so I have been going to this grass field for 30 years on and off.I have dubbed it my buckle field why ? so far 60 buckles from the 14th to 20th century. On Saturday two of us on the field my mate found a 17th century Buckle plus a 20th century one no coinage. I found Two buckles one shown 16th century the other 20th century Plus a large book clasp possible from a bible or a very large book. Also a young head Victoria farthing(not shown) We were only there just about an hour The T2 SE served me well fitted with the Nel Hunter coil set at 60 Sens. Disc18 and at boost the little farthing was a genuine 6 inches deep. I also found a latten spoon handle at depth. The difference I am finding with the T2 is that in the past with other detectors including Minelab Explorer I put the spade in fully= 8 inches and in all cases the finds were in the plug taken from the hole With the T2 I have to dig again
First find shown is the Large Book Clasp found further than 8 inches the other is the 16th century double loop buckle. Some idiot on Ebay insists on putting one on as Roman ???
