More Micro Gold with Exterra 70

Neilo

New member
I went out today going over some old diggings. I managed to score 4 tiny bits total weight 0.2 grams. A friend of mine was there using his GP4500 with a 6 inch coiltek coil. I got a signal and before I dug it I called him over to see if he could pick it up with his machine. No it would not pick it up. The little nugget was about 2 inches down. I am really pleased with the performance of the Xterra. I was using the 6inch round hf coil. its a great combination. Seeya Neilo

I bet your friend is thing about trading in that GP4500...........

That is a pretty site. I wish we had gold around here.

Thanks Neilo, Nice finds! Any chance you could post another pic of them, with a ruler or something along side. Those of us in parts of the World without nuggets might not realize just how small of target the X-TERRA is capable of finding. Thanks in advance. HH Randy

Thanks Neilo, The US dime really puts it in perspective! Thanks for sharing. HH Randy

Thanks for that Neilo, must be hard to pinpoint and then separate those ~0.05 gram micro nuggets out of the soil. How do you do it, what is your technique?? Using a plastic scoop, cup, your hands, an electronic pinpointer, or??

The X-70(5) in Prospecting Mode(also in AM) must rival the GMT and Gold Bug-2 for finding micro gold like that.

That is neat that the X-70 w/ 6" HF DD beats the GPX-4500 w/ a 6" Mono on micro gold!

I only have a 5x10" HF DD for my X-70. It will not pick up as small of gold as the 6" HF DD, but the 5x10" runs quieter in high mineral ground I have heard.

Well done.

Hey, that little 6" coil really is a sensitive little critter eh?

Cheers,

Danno.:)
