More Old Church Finds

Got back out to that old church again, it has really growed up bad since I was last there, then we have been getting daily storms and lots of rain.
I was able to hunt an area to the back side, I literally had to push the grass and weeds down with the coil. I got to hunt about two to 2 1/2 hours before it rained me out, thunder and lightning made me head to the truck!
I hit a spot by an old tree, and was I ever rewarded, been quite some time since I dug this much silver. Two of the halfs were laying together, One on top the other, in the same hole. As I got up and started to swing (after I looked up and said my thankyou)another good signal, and out came the other half. I could not believe it.
I will post this pic and continue with the other pic on another post, as I don't think you can post more than one pic at a time.

I can't wait to get back, but the stuff is getting so high, I will be limited as to what if any I can hunt till the frost kills it all back later this late fall or winter.
The place just sits there and nobody cuts or takes care of it.
I have not in all my years of hunting encountered a place where you don't find the modern day trash.
Not even iron trash so far, course I have been running in the coin mode, but I fiqure to try and use that mode and get all I can of the good stuff, and then go back over in 0 disc and see what else is there.

Next time you visit take a weed eater with you and clear out some spots to hunt. Doubt that anybody would mind. Hard telling what is buried there. You may have stumbled upon a virgin site. Strike while the iron is hot. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Decades ago old churches were my favorite old coin hunting locations. Your finds illustrate why. Used to put a lawnmower in the trunk of the family car to mow the lawn at great locations such as yours.(My dad used to think I was nuts until I showed him what I was finding). Take your time-there is a lot more there.
Great finds
George
