hi all had another silver day today . i hit my favorite park for 3 hours and found 5 predecimal coins 1 penny 1942, 2 half penny's 1939-1951, 1 silver sixpence 1963, 1 silver florin 1952 and a silver ring with blue stones. also 21 1c+2c for scrap copper so a good day all up.
i took the pic of the coins before i cleaned them to show how bad they look when they come out of the ground over here in Aussie land.
you state side guys are so lucky nice clean parks, low mineralisation, and your coins look so clean when they come of the ground. when i dig silver over here its all green or yellow for the 50% coins and gray or black for the 925%coins.:nopity:. thats enough from me i better take one last look at the ring before it gets nabbed by the misses and i never see it again .
catch ya later.

Terrific once more Lazy; silver ring as well this time !

Where was this park mate ?

Melway reference would do !

Heh heh:lmfao:

Nice finds!

Is the color change from sulphur in the soil?

thanks all. hi snowy this park is top secret :ninja: as it has a high silver per copper rate. i usually give a park the once over then call the mate in and we pick up the leftovers but not this park as it just keeps popping the old coins out so i keep it as a stand by when i"m not finding much at other parks.
this ring is only the second piece of jewelery from this park and the $$ count is at $25 so far which is not to good but i have pulled out about 2-3 kg of 1c-2c pieces :ranting:.
BlackX i think it high iron content. some of the park i dig have rust layers in the soil that stuff the coins and make my detectors go nuts. but thats part of the fun of swinging a coil.

Great Job..... I found a ring today also, but it is overlay, nothing like your beautiful ring.

I just found a 1941 Australian Penny this weekend myself. Neat Coin and it was hard to believe that I was almost going to pass it up. I did once but on my way back doing a Pattern, I swung over it again and then decided to dig it since it was only about 2" in the ground. Glad I did but not so glad that I did after seeing what it was. You see, I dinged it a good one on recovery thinking Clad Coin and didn't realize that the Coin was going to be so big. I guess I should have looked at the Smart Find to see where the Cross Hairs landed. Live and Learn I guess. Congrats on them Oldies. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH.
