Mother Load

I was working Low Tide Monday afternoon, Socal Beach with my Xcal II....I ran across about a 60ft square section in the wet sand full of jewelry, I pulled out 59 pieces of jewelry, it took me over 2.5 hrs to get it all.....Most of it is junk out of the 8 rings 1 is stamped "UP 10K" 3 of the rings have stones..Some of the pieces are silver that one big bracelet is pewter, the watch is junk....I guess I will focusing on low tide now...The rock comes up as a nickel tone in disc mode not sure what it is made of, it came out of the same 60 sq ft patch....the only trash I found in all that patch of jewelry was 1 penny and one hook...I was running in pinpoint mode when I hit this patch of jewelry...Any ideas about the rock???

You sure did well there. Congrats on the great finds.
The rock could be a meteorite just try putting a magnet to it and see if its metallic.

just wanted to congratulate you on the big
cache of jewelery you found. The excitement
of wondering if the next one would be gold or

Thanks....I wish there were more valuable stuff within the find.but most of it was junk...I talked to another metal detector guy the next day and told him what I had ran across and he said I was lucky and it would have been probly been gone in a couple of days because of it being washed back out or being sanded in...He told me I had ran across it at the right time..but I thought when I was diggin all of it that at least half of it would have been gold or silver or maybe some platinum....But let me tell ya I was shakin when I dug my 3rd or 4th piece of jewelry in a roll...I have been beach detecting for 5 months on the beach with my Xcal 2..and that 1 dig is what I would find in about 5 months....There must be thousands of peices of jewerly rolling around in the surf, because this was just a small section of beach that I found this in..Maybe the more expericed detectorist can explain why at a certain place it just all gets thrown up or uncovered....I hope I run across it again....It was a adrenaline rush....Thanks for the comments

I tried the rock with a magnet, and it is not iron (it does not stick) ....When I scan it with my Xcal 2...It is a solid nickel tone....The rock must be some type of ore..Lead copper or otherwise...if you look at the rock the corrosion on it is green...Interesting huh..I guess I will take it to someone that deals with stones or metals to have it checked out..It has me freaked out...I was thinking Kryptonite but that was just in the movies...HA HA..I will let ya know

Thanks..The rock was the best find I think..All the jewelry was great but the rock is a mystery....Hopefullly I will run across the low tide deal again...I will start focusing on low tide....I was freakin out when I ran across it...Thanks for the comments

HOLY SMOKES!! Forget about what that other guy on the beach said and keep going back to that spot and surrounding areas and hit it hard. Not telling how much is probably still in there, including gold. He's right that it can change pretty quick but it might hold good for a couple more hunts. Hope you didn't tell him where the spot is. It looks like a meteorite. Most common meteorites are of nickel composition. There are many websites on meteors with photos. Nice haul from the beach, wave action often clusters items of the same weight..

That is so cool. I have been trying to figure out where the items in one part of our beach ends up. Deep I guess. Way to go, and I agree, keep after that area the gold is deeper in the sand or on the outer edge of the slope.

Thanks for the comments..Does anyone know what the UP stands for..one of the rings is stamped "UP 10K" and the ring is white..white gold I am sure. Just dont know what the UP stands for..Thanks

Many times that is the marker's mark. That is what I would say "UP" is.
