Mr Bill,
The old Fisher Impulse PI.Does it have a 555 IC
for main timer and 4017 IC for clock.

I don't know. I have never had one apart to look, sorry.
Perhaps someone else will jump in with the information.

What about the old Tesoro Piranha.Does it use a
555 IC for main timer and a 4017 for clock.

I don't remember on the Tesoro but I think it is yes on the 555.
The Tesoro was a White's Surfmaster PI redone a bit by Tesoro.
