musketeer xs pro

The pro comes with the 10" searchcoil. You will want to get a 8" coil for most of your hunting.
The XS is an excellent detector, no reason to pass it up if the price is right.
Sent you a PM, regarding The Minelab Musketeers, lots of info stored at the site.

Hi Sven,

I've been watching the Minelab detectors come and go on e-bay the last couple months, among them some Musketeers. I'm curious about the Musketeers in general and saw that you are a big fan. I hope you don't mind if I toss a few questions your way. ( and anybody else that cares to jump in) ??? And please don't feel like I am criticizing the Musky along the way. I don't know much at all about the Musky.

The Musketeer operates at 5khz, a nice low frequency that most folks think is very good for coins in general. (I'm primarily a coin and token hunter but won't throw jewelry back if I find it) My biggest question is that the Musketeer looks very capable, but for $100 more I can pick up a Sovereign GT that has BBS capabilities, doesn't require ground balancing, and has the ability to add an VID meter, if the user wishes (additional cost).

Is the Musky geared to a different crowd than the Sovereign? Or can used Musky be picked up for a much more reasonable cost? What are the Musky's strengths and weaknesses?

Appreciate you feedback in advance.
