My 1350 came in today!

I got off of work early because I had been tracking my package and saw that at 10:32 my two packages from Kellyco had been delivered! I got home and sure enough, just outside my back door, sat the obsession of my life for the past two months! I had ordered the BH 505 under Kellyco's BOGO sale for my 12 year old daughter for her birthday. She loves to go out with me MD'ing, but she is always bugging me to let her use the metal detector! It is her 12th birthday and although it's not a Garrett (I wish I could have afforded one) it is a good metal detector and she can now hunt with me with her own machine! She absolutely loved it. My brother-in-law was also here last night (RangerRick) and we spent the evening checking out the two new machines and he received the V4 that Kellyco gives you as the 1350 came with the pro-pointer from Garrett! We all had a great time and I found my first coin, a clad dime, with my new 1350 in my side yard! The ground is still frozen which makes digging near impossible so we didn't stay out long. Uncle Rick (RangerRick) absolutely loves the 1350 as do I, and I think he will be purchasing one for himself this year! I am so looking forward to testing and exploring the potential of my new machine and will report back with my results and finds!:clapping:

Happy Hunting to All and thanks for all the advice and help during my long selection process. Special thanks to John Edmonton!

What a feeling of enthusiasm one gets reading your posts. Give your daughter a "high five" from me. (don't be surprised if she out-hunts you :) ) I too have a 12 year old daughter and have had some of my best memorable experiences with her metal detecting. Good luck to all of you! If you have any questions-you know what to do. Hope that frost dissappears soon!

Since you've been talking about them I've been reading up on em' Looks to be a real good unit! Dosen't the 505 cost more than the Ace 250?? It's funny they would not throw one in on the bogo list?? Anyway, Looks like the new 505's are alot better than the old ones. Good luck and have some fun!

Oakman have fun with the 1350 God only knows how much time I spent with mine...Just remember that the imaging isn't always right. Sometimes you can get a coin to show up as the medium size target especially if there are multi. coins. Don't know how many times I did that (curiosity got to me and figured that out). The good/bad deal with the 1350 is that it will pick up say a BB or small lead shot. I always thought of it as a coin and I was missing it. The Pro pointer will help with that. That was the only reason I swing a GTI 2500 now(it tells you if it is smaller than a coin size target). Have a great time with it and don't forget to tap the pinpointer button a second time to shut it off.

Thanks for the tips! Yes, the 505 is a little over $300.00 (Pro Package) and they do not offer either of the ACE's with the 1350 or I would have jumped on that. I got the 505 for $55.00 and it came with the 4" coil as well! It is a good tecter and she (My daughter) likes it. I got her a BH padded bag and the cover for my 1350 and coil cover today so we are ready for the ground to thaw!

Yeah the 1350 is a sensitive puppy. It was worse when I tested the prototype so I advised Garrett to tone it down a bit on the production model. Had one much worse years ago - a Fisher 441. I stuck it in the closet after digging a measured 14 inches down to find the head off a nail. Talk about sensitive and deep.

Bill.
