My 2 cents worth on D2 10" DD coil

Hi to all

The D2 10" DD coil is defiantly worth the money in my opinion.

I have a MXT300 and found that the Super 12 Search Coil is to sensitive for the mineralized soil I have where I live in California. The soil is in the rang of 78 to 87 on the GND

I bout my MXT300 with the super 12 and also the Eclipse DD (6x10) which is great but wonted to take advantage of whites bones offer so I choose the D2.

The D2 works very well even in very trashy areas like the park and is very lite to swing. It seam to separate even close targets and the VDI is right on the money.
The pinpoint is just like the Eclipse DD (6x10) right off the tip of the coil just above the D2 sticker dead center. Much better than ether of my other coils.

When you pinpoint with the D2 and do a wiggle pull back as soon as the target passes from under the coil the sound stops and their it is.
I think the D2 is the best for pinpointing but I do not have that much experience YET LOL.

I would recommend this coil for any one that is looking for a great coil in bad soil.

Thanks BRIAN

PS. would be interested in trading my super 12 for Eclipse Deepscan DD 1400 or Eclipse Shooter DD (4x6)

Thanks for the D2 10" coil heads up, I am thinking about getting one in the near future.

Is there any difference between the D2 10" and 6X10" coil in depth? I have a 6X10" DD and am curious to see if the D2 10" DD is deeper?

Plus, I have a smaller 4X6" DD and even have the newer version stock 9.5" and would trade for your super 12" coil but I too live in California so I'm kind of in the same position as you are, The 12" super coil is a bit too large for my area.

Hey Paul, I dont know about the Whites 10" D2 but I do know that the EXcelerator 10" gets alot more depth then the 6 X 10 DD.

And its a great coil for less $$$$$$

Thank Bob for the info with the Excelerator 10" coil, I am curious to see how well the D2 does on depth.

So if the D2 has the same depth as the Excelerate then maybe I will need to get this coil, I like the DD coverage the 6X10" gives and it does well on depth but I always felt it lost a little due to the elliptical design.

This is my third MXT and each time I've always went back with using the 6X10" as my main coil, Only this time around I'm not letting go of my MXT....It sure is a good detector.

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)
