My detector was going nuts the other day, gtp1350, but I was in such a trashy area! Went to another location and it was fine, make sure your coil cover is clean also!

Make sure everything is clean and dry. Check battery clips. Tighten cable connector. Try different batteries. I've bought new batteries that turned out to be bad. Do a factory reset. Try a different coil to see if the coil is bad.

Check coil for cracks or other damage. Check Coil cable for damage. Try changing to another coil. Also do a power reset (hold power button until detector beeps). If all else fails call Garrett.

do you use a pin pointer ?? as these can set it off  if not pull the coil cable plug out & give it a clean the replace it nice & snugly & make sure the cables not to tight.
