So far, my fav coin plucker/probe has been a pushrod
from an engine. Has round ball ends, and so far doesn't
seem to hurt coins. It's pretty stiff, and can handle
most any ground. It might seem kinda hard to deal with
having no handle, but hasn't been a problem so far. One
advantage...You can use either end... I keep it in my
back pants pocket when I walk around. Along with a rag...
I like to clean my hands off every once in a while as
it reduces the amount of dirt I transfer to the buttons
on the control head.. :/ I hear getting excess dirt in the
pinpointer button can cause intermits in some cases..
So I try to avoid that. I don't use a digger shovel any
more, except for big relic digs... Causes too much lawn
damage. I use a pinpointer, so I usually detect with the
ace 250 on the right hand, and the pinpointer on the left
until I find something. In a busy area, I just set it on
the ground, and grab it when I need it.
Need to rig me up some kind of big holster for the pinpointer.
It's a automax V2, and is kinda big for something you
would hang on your belt... I'm real careful with it,
as I hear they don't like to be dropped, etc..
So whatever holster I rig up needs to be 100% secure from
it falling out. Also don't want the probe end catching
on something , and breaking it off.

So really want a
"full length" holster.. I'll probably have to homebrew it..
It's kinda cold and rainy this weekend, so looks like I
probably won't be doing too much...
