My best week so far with the Omega

caleb

New member
I upgraded from a Lone Star to an Omega a few weeks back, after a short learning curve I pulled my first silver and gold rings this last week. Plus some clad and a bunch of pulltabs and bottle caps. Loving it so far!

The good stuff from last week

Nice finds!! The Omega is a sweet machine, and it looks like you are rocking with it. Good luck on your next hunt :)

Thanks, this week is off to a good start, I found a good spot this morning between two trees I pulled these in about 20 minutes. Got my oldest quarter so far a 67, so close to silver, not quite there. The penny was on top of the quarter and was my first target of the day.

You'll hit the silver soon. Once you find that older spot to detect, hit it hard. The Omega will pull out the deep silver : ) GL & HH!

Ive got permission to hunt a couple old sites, one has been detected before but Im hoping to still find some stuff left over. Just got permission today to hunt a 1924 site that is virgin. Waiting for some rain to loosen up the soil so I dont tear up his grass too bad. Went out to the lake for an hour this evening found the lures and the car, then helped my brother in law locate his septic tank, and found a pile of pennies and a bunch of hose nozzles in his yard, the cartridge is a 357 and still has the bullet but not the primer? It was a pretty good day

I bet if you go over that one spot that was hunted, you will find plenty. I hunted an old spot a guy with an x-terra 705 had hunted for 4 days strait. I pulled so much stuff out he couldn't believe it.
This place was loaded with old iron and trash, and his machine must have nulled out over the iron and missed the good stuff next to it. The Omegas fast recovery made the spot feel like it had never been hunted!

I believe the guy used an mxt, but concentrated on the site of the old house that burned. I have been hunting one of our local parks for about 20 minutes before work every morning that is "hunted out" I pull coins every single day. Some of them are fresh, but others have been there for many years. I want to get that 5" coil (or maybe wind one) Ive heard great things about it in trashy sites. But I think I'm going to upgrade the Bullseye II to a Garrett first. What is your deepest find so far? I pulled a wadded up staple from 8", I hear a tentative 12" but have yet to find anything down that far.

I pulled an old brass buckle out at around 12 inches, but it's much bigger than a coin. When I pinpointed, It read 6 inches. I dug, and dug expecting to find an old beer can, but then out popped that old green brass. It hit with a strong dime signal. I've recently been digging some 7-8 inch wheaties. I think that it would find deeper coins than that, it just seems rare to find them much deeper in my area. I have that buckle on my last youtube video. My user name is the same as here. I have the 5 inch DD, and am very impressed with that little coil. I've dug some 6-7 inch deep coins with it as well, plus pinpointing is super easy. The Omega seems to be just as deep as my F75, when using the 11" DD coil.

I took a look at some of your videos and subscribed, I gotta find my little tripod and start recording some of my finds. Nice eyeball : )

Thanks ! You should record some, it would be cool to see some more Omega videos :) I also think it's cool to have a record of your hunts. You never know when you're going to get that killer find, so I keep my camera in my pouch. GL & HH

Thanks Bart, Went out to the lake for a couple hours last night as I got off work before dark. Soooo many pulltabs, I pulled 3 pennies and a quarter in the first 5 minutes and a bunch of pull tabs a dime and a few pennies in the next couple hours. I know there has to be some good stuff out there still with all those pull tabs in the ground. As it was getting dark I circled around one of the picnic tables and there was at least 50 pull tab signals in 150 sq feet. AGGGHHH, why do people rip those things off of cans?

And the trash from friday afternoon, at least they were kind enough to bury a tube of neosporin in case of canslaw cuts

Spent yesterday working on the house but got to go out for a few hours this morning. Today's take to finish off the week. Cheers
