I made this Explorer Hipmount with a complete shaft of Sovereign XS (50
 
You have less to worry about if you drop it into the water or mud. You can even use an ordinary heavy duty clear plastic bag if you want to. Just make sure you have a tight seal where the headphone and coil cables come out of.

No worry <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> , I went only on the beach, since one month of use, I have no problem.
It's a good idea to use a plastic bag if it's rain the coil connector/extension cable don't like the water.
I put the Explorer under a windbreaker.
