hello its me again went today for the second time to the same park, everything okay with my metal detector didnt went off, this are some of my best finds some old coins i dont know what are they , thrre vert dirty, do you know somthing that i can clean them? Total 1 hour and 30 minutes of detecting

oooo i hate pull tabs :ranting:

Nice little chain and crucifix. Gold?

I usually use soap and water and call it good. However you should take extra care when you find a rare or valuable coin, and stop at a point that you determine that is is. The copper here just is not that old and I (should not) hit a fair amount of it with a fingernail brush or a toothbrush. Soaking in some soap and water for a couple hours to a couple days also works then limits the amount of scrubbing you (should not) do. I just want enough to see dates and mint marks. Peroxide also works, to slow for me though

A little more size on the pic would be good and maybe less flash (?). I shoot best quality of the camera then resize to post. Macro so I can get the best chance for good closeups. Good lighting is needed if no flash and strobe often works well for me (depends on angle). Also helps us when you need help on certain coins if they are arranged in an upright position, relative to the camera. This will make the nice old ones easier to look at on the screen, so we can wish we were hunting where you are.

What part of this grand world are you in? (maybe you already told us)

Jeff

Congrats on the finds. Until I figured out whether they were collectible coins or had more than "face value", I wouldn't do anything but soak them in some clean water. After you determine what they are, you can decide whether or not you want to do anything else. HH Randy

Randy is right, of course I rarely find anything of collectable value.

Nice hunt Nev:clap: and pleased that you got the battery problem sorted.

Yes soap and water to clean the coins, another pic after cleaning would

be great.

Hey you did great.
Usually I soak them in dish detergent and water then later throw them in a bottle that says vacation fund.
Remember with pull tabs you may get other surprises also, so the idea is to dig and be surprised. But I do agree they are a pain in the butt.
What detector are you swinging ?
What ever you dig it all adds up in the end.
Love the cross. Is it gold ?

Happy Hunting
