My first post on the Garrett forum...:garrett:

The ACE 250 will (unlike some detectors in that price range) do good in salt water.
Place a dime on the sand under about 5 inches of salt water and pass the coil over it ... not in the water but above it ... it will detect that dime thru the salt water.
That is something other detectors costing a lot more have a hard time doing and it says a lot about that detectors abaility.

A lot of good finds have been made at the beach using the humble little ACE 250.
Garrett hit the ball clear out of the park with that detector and then followed it up with their PRO PinPointer.

I'm so glad to hear that the 250 will perform well in salt water. I'm pretty sure that Garrett's comparison chart doesn't indicate that it will, so that's really good news! :clapping:

Were any of your fellow club members able to tell you anything about beach settings for the Ace 250?

BTW...I saw your post - it looks like you guys had a blast!
