OK--Here's the story on all of the above...Ready??
My First ring ever found at the beach is the silver one with Mother of Pearl(?)
It was found near the end of a hunt. Mike & I had just discussed what we were going to do for our exit strategy.
FIRST swing after putting the headphones back on..38 on the Quattro.
Cool--a quarter! I can deal with that.
Scoop--still in the hole, Scoop--still there, Scoop--STILL there!!
Now I'm looking at a decent size hole, I'm away from the waves but water is in hole and I'm watching the sand being sucked in from the sides--looked cool, but it also looked like it was sucking my find right down the center!!
Thought to myself--Self, you're NOT going to lose this target!
Went into full frenzy recovery mode!!
Turned scoop around and started shoveling/pulling sand out of the hole!
IT's OUT!!!
Pinpointed it and scooped it up--shaked out the sand and BINGO Nice .925 silver ticket!!
Earlier on the same hunt--I found the 1 knuble Russian coin--it came up a 21 (important later) This was my 2nd dug foreign coin.
The first being a Canadian penny found up in New Hampshire....if you consider that foreign
My 2nd ever Beach Ring
came near the beginning of a hunt
It's the Wire looking Silver(?) ring
Came up a 39 on the Quattro.
No markings on it, but looks silver, feels like silver, sounded like silver
July 4th "weekend"
Expectations were HIGH!
Even though it was in the middle of the week..vacationers were still bound to be out and dropping stuff left & right.....Not for me!
It was bleak for me..I was mumbling BIG time. & it wasn't helping that EVERY pirate I ran into had at least one ticket--IF not more!
I was ready to go! I wasn't watching what I was doing--swinging high, fast, & erratic!
Then I hit a target
(That was an accomplishment!!) came up in the low 20's so I thought to my self--Self, at least you got another Russian coin--that's different!
Dug it up..and I stopped Mumbling!!
14K mans Gold band!! My First Gold!!
For Size comparison--a dime fits right in the middle perfectly
Went out the next day!
FIRST target I dug was the ring(toe?)that looks like the world's smallest ID bracelet!
I was hoping that all my luck was NOT used up on that one find so early on & that there would be more.....)
Found my 3rd & 4th foreign coins..a Russian 50-kopeck & a Japanese 100 Yen.
The 100 Yen was in a spillage of a little over $2 in clad--so that helped make the hunt a little happier
The cross was found in the middle of the hunt....no markings on it so I presume it's probably stainless steel..came up as a 38
Went out once this past weekend...
My first hunt in about 2 weeks because of other obligations
Mike & I were hunting to were there was a cut the night before that he & Ina racked up on!
Not much happening on the way down--usual scant clad..
Finally got down there and hear a low tone. 7-8 on the Quattro.
I started thinking to myself when I started digging--"Please be good, Please be good!" because every other time I've dug something like that--it's always had been trash!!
Took me 2-3 scoops before I found it--shook out the sand...
My first Diamond ring!!
I know it's tiny, but it tested real!! 10K
Wife has already claimed it
So there you are--Caught up to date!!
My Mascot is my Favorite Marvel Comics hero--The Golden Avenger--IRON MAN
Coin Reference:
Bank of Russia--Coins
Bank of Japan--Coins
