That is some great finds, I sure wish I could find some old silver coins but Vegas is mostly new. I will be looking at some places for silver coins this fall and I plan to do some relic hunting at old abandoned mines for mining relics. I love my x-terra :detecting:
Keep up the great research and finds.

Wow three weeks and you already found silver and a indian . Congratulations.

Hi great finds congrats we got the xterra at almost the same exact time do you mind sharing what mode you like to search in Coin #1 or #2 perhaps- great job

1857 would not be an Indian, unless it was a pattern. Is it a Flying Eagle, or maybe you misread the date?

You are right...I don't know where I got 1857 it was 1874 Dislectict and typo I guess. lol

Thanks for the correction

Thanks Hawkeye
I use All Metal with sensitivty 20-25 usually and then lower it if I find a target and look for consistent ID and location . Threshold is usually about 16 or 17. Hope this helps.

Great finds Pilot....you seem to have gotten familiar with your 705 in a very short time. Can I ask where you normally hunt?? I am particularly interested in where you found your indians. I have found 13 so far and all in older parks. I normally only find clad in school yards.

Chuckciao...found them when they tore up one city block of cement on main street. Found two indians and a 1911 wheat in about 2 hours. Went back later in the day to search the other side of the street and two other guys from another town were detecting on that side and together they found 2 indians and a 2 cent.None of the coins we found were in very good shape though. Found my 3rd indian on a boulevard in an older part of town. Still not in very good shape but better than the coins from main street. I haven't had any luck in the parks.

Pilot,
a lot of parks are fairly modern and contain only clad at best. If you can determine that the park is fairly old, I would suggest hunting it very slowly and methodically. I am sure you will find at least, some wheaties.
