Up here in the Northwoods we are into our first week of firearms deer season. I'm not much of a deer hunter but we usually have plenty of venison in our freezer by the time it's over, thanks to my friends and my father-in-law. The weather has been very kind up to this point. Woke up today to 48 degrees so I figured I better get out and hit it as hard as possible. Went to a home built in the 20's and now abandoned .. 1918-D merc was nestled nicely alongside the rusted nail ... 1964 rosie was sittin' right on top of the dirt
, had to take a photo of that find for sure. And another buffalo nickel which has a tough date, but it looks like a 1920-D or S to me. I like the '31 canadian penny ... never seen one like that before. Also a sterling silver item which looks like a pin for a military uniform. I hope I have more to post this year but it ain't looking good .... our very long winter could begin any day now. Enjoy the pictures !!Dave
If not have a nice winter. I`m in SE Wis. We have a couple weeks or so, but we have lots of rain first, then the big FREEZE.
I'm sure you'll get the itch to head back out.
.... I would love to see a few more this year but I am OK with where it's at. Like you, I had hoped for maybe half of that by the time this season was over. And who knows ... I may try to line-up a hunt down south this winter yet. I know some hospitable good 'ol boys down there who would welcome a visit.
I hope you get out some more before the really bad weather hits. HH.
