I contacted jeff herke and asked him to put me something together that would work on my xterra 70. It has solved the tipping over problem and the headphone jack is just perfect keeping the wire behind you all the time. Its all aluminum and sturdy. I really like it , thanks jeff.

It looks pretty nice, I also noticed that you mounted your headphone plug under the arm rest like I did.
Could you post a picture on what type of plug you used on the side of the unit where the headphone plugs in.
Doug.

The simplest solution that I can think of, is to use the whole itself. Just grab your drill bits and keep trying till you get the right size. (Out of the drill of course.)
Mick Evans.

Are you going to tell us where we can get one?

Thanks that is what I was looking for. Right now on mine I have a straight plug and doubling the cord back toward the head unit. I will have to look at my local surplus store to see if they have a 90 degree plug with a cord already attached. Yours looks a lot nicer. Where did you find the 90 you used. Did you just have one hanging around or is it available at Radio Shack.

Doug;

What a great set up! You got it from Jeff Herke you said. Who is he and is there some way to contact him, or is your X-Terra stand a one time, one off custom made only? Or are there maybe plans that Jeff can give out to build it? We could go off of your great photo to build it in a pinch though.

Did the short shaft cord with angle plug put on the shaft with zip ties come with it or did you make it yourself?

Thanks for unselfishly sharing!

Here is an approval from field tester and author Andy Sabisch who wrote the new E-Trac-Explorer book. Jeff is the same guy who made the new X-Terra custom stand above.

"Jeff's arm cuff is definitely first class in terms of look, feel and construction. I have been using it on my E-Trac since before they came out and would not go back to the original.

It is mentioned in the book but you can get info on it at the following location:

There's other info there as well . . . . . .

Andy"

I know this is an old post but does anyone know if this stand is available anywhere???

Thanks,
Dave
I don't think so, but your best bet would be contacting Jeff to see.
