My oh my, another big Barber sister comes home.

Probably about it for the woods until next winter. Two tic's on my shirt when I finished my morning hunt. Must state, though, I ended the woods hunting right. I got another Barber half, a 1898s about mid way through the morning hunt. This one had a little depth, about 8." The audio was somewhat broken, but vid spot on,89-92. Other then the half, nothing of consequence saw the light of day. Of course, a hunt on this site wouldn't be complete with out running into the 3 Merry Widows. 11" dd coil, bp mode, sen 95, 4 disc, 3h tones and gb of 60-61. HH jim tn

Great hunt!!! Ticks are gonna stop you from awesome finds like that?? You could always put on a flea and tick collar! Lol:rofl:

What an inspirational group of Digs you got there Jim! Just think about those young lovers rolling around shedding silver 100 years ago! Due to your success, I've been hitting some old spots lately, but found nothing yet that holds a candle to you group! Awesome!

Very Nice!

Take a bath in DEET and get back in there!

Like the others said... DEET!!!

Congrats on the great silver finds from that site!

Jim, you are finding some seriously sweet stuff...CONGRATS!

As others have said, stock up on DEET bug spray. Wal-Mart sells it the cheapest I've found, but I'd suggest avoiding the Wal-Mart house brand, I think it's called Repel. The actual stuff may be just as good as the name brands, but the delivery from the nozzle was crappy on a couple cans I bought. "Off" brand sprays much better and not much higher in price. Cutter seems to work well to.

I don't put a lot of trust in the FDA, I wouldn't be surprised if DEET is found to be a carcinogen down the road. But that beats Lyme disease. Or giving up those beautiful Barbers...

hi yo silver!.hot damn!..jim!..you are zeroed right in!
sweet barber!..(w.t.g!)

(h.h.!)

Jim.....ticks scare the crap out of me too, I have two friends who have long lasting effects from Lymes disease....BUT.....in this case I would run to the nearest camping store and get a bottle of Sawyer permethrin spray and keep pounding these woods!! You have had a great run going!!

Congrats!!

SWEEET...WTG.........hh rick in mi.

although I wasn't quite ready to retire the site until next fall and winter and had started using DEET, I'll take the "bath with DEET" advise and give it a few more shots. Besides the tic's, underbrush, shrubs and the likes will be very thick before much longer. I may have to give the 6 1/2" coil a shot, as the last 2 Barbers came from pretty tight spots and really all I could do was stick the big coil over the spot. It's been a fun run, I must admit. Thanks again, HH jim tn

Yep, really! Keep going back at it there! Burn the woods, spray the forest, wear nets and deet, whatever it takes!

That's the stuff that gets the rest of us out there looking!

Jim you're tearing up that camp ground

I wouldn't let no stinking tics stand in the way of big silver :detecting:

You're off to a ripping year.
