Bob is a "perfectionist"....every detail he works on has to be so exact.........which is a necessary trait when building one of these .

Anyone need a flight to anywhere in the near future?:smoke:

When it is completed, I hope to get a photo and post it for those who may be interested.

thanks for looking

I flew with him lots of times. I love to do anything off the ground. He built a "Long EZ" and also a "Wheeler Express" both were Dick Rutan designs. I love the EZ the best as it was a rear prop driven plane with a fighter style cockpit (pilot in front, passenger in back with a top made of plexi-glass that gave you about a 280 degree field of vision. Cruising speed was about 225 mph.

I've also flown in a military C130, helicopter, Block Buster Blimp, and jumped out of an airplane at 12,000 feet for my 40th b-day. Still working for a flight in a P51 Mustang. Had a hook up several years ago but a job switch kind of blew that.

The last one he built was made out of some kind of canvas material...I thought it would be made of out metal or wood. I was surprised at that.

That engine is a Volkswagen engine.Where is he living at Mag ? Remember I was a pilot too and love air planes too.Man I would love to meet him.I feel a trip coming on.:clapping:

Yeah, you and Bob could get together and assemble a flying Dune Buggy!:rofl::rofl:

whoda thunk,
I never heard o' one before .
Seems they are exclusivly for DIY aircraft.
Pretty cool :smoke:

I've even flown with Walt Pierce ! I really have and it was in this very airplane. he is home based at Sebring International Airport in Florida. Great Guy. Oh, I got to ride in the front seat. Had a ball ! He flies a 1940 Stearman ! I'm sure Elson will know what that is.
