My oldest silver yet......

Went around to that list of abandon properties I had today, most of them were in a neighborhoods that the houses were built butt up to each other. On the one that the house was already leveled, I found a 1917 Mercury Dime and some clad. It was a good size lot (about an acre) in a better older neighborhood. Plan to go back later this week and see what else I can get out of it. All the silver I've found so far have been dimes (5), hopeful someday I'll graduate to quarters. I'm still trying to download pictures, my camera pics are to big of a file to download.

There are a few ways to make photos smaller.

1. Use a photo editor to reduce the resolution of photos. Most photo editors have a feature that will manipulate photos so that they are a more web appropriate size.

2. Set your camera to take lower resolution photos. Try around 1.1 - 2 megapixel.

3. Take photos a bit larger than you want and then crop down to reduce size. This is handy if your camera won't focus very closely too.

Silver dimes are good. Quarters will follow. You seem to be hunting where there are old coins. Hope you pop a few silver halfs too.

Hey Uncle Willie,

If you don't have a picture editor, Try Google's Picasa 3.
It's free, and can shrink them however much you need.

Also, if your camera gives you a choice, maybe you can go to a lower resolution.
