my one and only cache

camel

New member
everyday i drove by and abandoned two story farm house.one day a man was there and i got permission to hunt the place.after about four trips the only thing i found was a few mercs and some wheaties.one day i drove by the house and discovered that it had been dozed down.i started looking at a spot that would have been under a wrap around porch when the house was standing.i noticed the rim of a cup in the dirt and ran the coil over it and got a good signal.i pried it up and discovered that i had found a moustache cup with 75 wheat Penny's from the twenties.not a big amount on money, but still a good find.there are probably thousands of these small caches all across the country.

its too hard with my 2 year old son. i take him everywhere i go so i have to be careful where i go to detect.

That is a nice find Camel and the Mustache Cup is a keeper also! :clapping: I have one that my grandpa and dad used! It is a plain one and heavy but I like it...that is if I can find which box it is packed into!

I found one silver cache in one of those squeeze open coin carriers when detecting with our club members in a park! It had been lost by another detectorist who had been detecting there a long time and he lost it....so find them and then they are lost again! My friend, Ginny saw him in the park one day and he asked if anyone had found his little change purse and she said, Yes, Betty did! Didn't see him any more after that and we can't detect in that park now as it is declared an HIstorical site and the old man got into an argument with the park rangers and so everyone can't detect there! More and more places are closed to metal-detecing that my ex and I used to hunt when we first started :detecting:

I've never found a hidden cache though and it would have thrilled me to no end to have found one!

Good going & God Bless!
