My wife and I are goin to her parents nite of the 21st-THE 22ND!!!-Im on my way up to near Mackinaw for 2 nites-Gonna detect that 1300 feet of beach in back of some of them high-priced hotels up thataway -They charge$2-300/A NITE
in the summer,and Im hoping some well-to-do folks dropped a little something that I will find in the sand-under the snow,that is....I snagged a room for around $50 a nite!!!Heated pool,hot tub,free breakfast...Gonna wander up Whitefish Point way too-get some video footage of Lake Superior in her warm winter glory
Im goin RIGHT PAST the casino-Only reason I was there last year was for their buffet-AWESOME!!!They had Prime Rib then-
!!!I dont go for the gambling....Never has been an attraction for me... I've heard a LOT of horror stories of some people practically selling themselves to 
playin them things....My#1 reason for goin up there is I've always had kind of a restless streak;and I like gettin away by myself for a while.My wife is at her parents then,There is just something about goin up there in the winter that appeals to me-All the crowds are gone,just walkin around town this time of year is appealing to me.Best part is when Im staying in this hotel I will be at;the whole beach -all 1/4 mile of it in back of ALL them other hotels-is mine for the detecting-They told me"As a paying customer,you are granted the privilege of THE WHOLE BEACH-even in back of the hotels that are closed-for any activity,INCLUDING METAL DETECTING"......What more could a person ask for???
I wonder.....Would they allow detecting in the summer????More than likely,no....We wouldnt want to disrupt any upper-class sunbather,now would we???
