That's a whole lot of gilt. Very pretty. Is the artillery button civil war or pre war? It looks old.

Pre war. 1814-1821. no idea why it was here but we have found dragoon and greatcoat buttons here also!
My brother dug the "I" out of some orange clay I believe. maybe that had something to do with condition:unsure:
