For those of you that swing the XS you really need to purchase the newer carbon fiber lower rod. What a difference. No more fighting the old aluminum lower rod with the coil wire stuffed into it. Mine was a real pain in the butt. The coil wire goes through the middle of the newer lower rod. I should have bought one when they first came out. Oh well, my new coil came with the newer lower shaft. I'm happy!!!

As the cable has to go switching box so you have to run the cable on the out side of the lower rod. With the older XS rod you can still run the cable in the grove if you have a X1 probe.

can't believe the difference myself over the old lower rod. what a great improvement.
 
You forgot its made of a more durable plastic and is not as whippy. Surely a nice change for the better..
