My Pro-Pointer hack

After my first use of the pro-pointed this morning I decided I needed to make some changes for faster eisier use. I used a token I found a couple days ago drilled two holes in it and ran stretchy string (string that stretches like a rubber band( through the two holes and used electrical tape to secure the string to the pro-pointer.
I also followed digger's advice and secured the pro-pointer to a self winding keychain purchased for $1.29 so I never have to worry about losing it, great advice digger thank you.

I wouldn't wait. That "one more time" may end up being the one it takes to lose it! At $5 and a trip to the hardware store, it's time and money well spent! HH Randy

I lost my ProPointer probably the second time that I used it! The case that comes with it does not hold it securely, I was scaling a very steep hillside and as near as I can figure my leg must have caught it and pushed it up out of the holster. Fortunately for me my hunting partner Mapper65 found it! It was like finding a needle in a haystack, but he saw it, I was one lucky detectorist that day. Maybe that's why he found an Indian Head that day and I found crap ... still not complaining though. I wrapped mine with some bright yellow tape since then but I'm interested in the retractable key chain idea. Wondering how it was attached at the top, string around the battery lid?

Heavy string looped around the cap of the Vibra Probe. Taped the string to the top end of the ProPointer with electricians tape. HH Randy
