My second day on the Explorer

I just had to get out and play with the explorer today. I read the book and the mastering book. Also pay close attention to this forum for any help and good tips. I was messing around with the different sounds, fer or cond, I dont know which I like better. Anyway I went to a yard that I hit with my gti-1500 and been there with the 3 different coils I own, 9 1/2, 12" imaging, and the 14" power dd, I believe I have to go back again soon. I managed 7 wheat pennies with the oldest being a 37D. My batteries went dead then because I have been out in my yard at 1 in the morning after work trying to figure this thing out. I also dug about 6 rusty nails. I know some people say that is why they use the ferrous, I was back and forth and it will take some time until I figure out which one I like best. Anyway, thanks for all your help, I think I am going to like this machine!! Good Luck Hunting!!!

Sounds promising so far...and the fact that you're productive with it so quickly, that always tells me I chose a good machine. Yes, there's a learning curve with the Explorer II. But it can also hunt right out of the box and get stuff others have missed.
