Being a proud owner of a ACE 250, I can't say enough about the machine, but I have one question. If I were to discriminate out all but coins in every mode would the depth and sound response be the same in each? I would think that the circuitry would be the same in all modes. Thanks..

I have heard other say there is more depth in all metal mode, and relic mode. I cant tell the difference. The only thing I can tell is that the deeper the target the more it jumps around on the TID.

What I've seen kinda mirrors yours. If there is a hit
from notching out low metals, it must be small. I can't
hardly tell the difference either. Actually, in theory,
with this type of circuit, I don't think there should be
much difference in coin sensitivity if you notch out other
metals. I know some machines do, but I don't think this
hurts the ace machines too much. It's kinda like a DSP
EQ of sorts. Normally, notching one range won't effect
the others much. I did one air test a while back comparing
hits on a coin with all metal vs coins, and I really
couldn't see much difference at all. But...Saying that, I
still often run in full metal. I only go to coins mode
if the iron, etc becomes a problem with excess hits. I like
seeing the low metals just so I know what else is under me.
