Neat poem

Here is a poem I found on my computer. Not sure where I copied it from (could have been even from here) but I thought it was good enough to repost.
Sandtick (SDPete)

Best Poem in the World

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.

Bob, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

'And why is everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said,
'Theyre all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'

JUDGE NOT!!

Remember...Just going to church doesn't make you a
Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.
Every saint has a PAST..
Every sinner has a FUTURE!

I am sorry but I don't like this poem because when we are saved in Christ Jesus we are a new creation in Christ and all who were sinners and have been forgiven will be with Jesus and will no longer be sinners just the same as we are! We can judge the tree by the fruit ii produces and we will help judge sinners after we are caught up to be with Jesus in the air! Through God's Holy Spirit we will know each other as brothers and sisters in Christ and will not be surprised! That is my thought on this poem, and again I don't like it, for it insuates that people can keep on sinning against God and still be in heaven! Not so, according to the Book of Revelations! May we truly be saved in Jesus and forgiven of all the sins that we confess unto Him, if we slip and sin now we have an Advocate Who goes before the Father for us and He is Jesus! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks Ma for your thoughts on this. I never saw it that way, you make some great points and should not feel sorry for sharing them.
Like you know, I'm just starting my journey and love any pointers or lessons I can get.
I wish I was well verse like most everyone here....I'll get there eventually.

poem gets around on the Net often and it still makes me rather angry when I read it, for it sounds like we are all sinners and still are in heaven when it is God's salvation grace that saves us by believing faith in Jesus' virgin birth, death and resurrection and therefore are no longer sinners if we truly believe in and love God's only begotten Son as our Savior and Lord, for Jesus is the Messiah and God with us! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Amen! Ma Betty
