Neat story, and good PR for the hobby

One of the places I've hunted a good bit over the last few years is a lawn of an old early 1800's house that was converted into the professional building. The dentist I go to owns it and has his office there, which is how I got permission. It's produced a lot of newer coins (and an unimaginable number of pulltabs, both of which have to do with it being on a parade route I think), but it's also produced a few older keepers and relics, including a king george II copper, 1 barber half, 1 walking half, couple indians, and a few old buckles and one-piece buttons.

Well, last fall I took a good photo of some of the relics with a number next to each and made a key sheet explaining what each item was and approximate age. I'm not good with art and design stuff, so I gave him the items and description sheet to display, (with advice not to glue the relics to anything and get glue all over them).

Well, I came in this past week for a cleaning, and there's a nice framed display on the waiting room wall, and apparently it's attracted a good bit of interest.

Needless to say, that absolutely made my day.

Going to take another shot at the place with the SEF coils in the next couple months and see if I can come up with anything else worthy of display.

Nice that he would put it up in a frame. That is a good testament for us MD'ers. Must make you feel good when you go into his office for a cleaning and you see it up there. I imagine it would generate some interest as that would be the last I would expect to see at a dentist's office.

They have a few other historical documents they've collected hanging on the walls, so it's actually a pretty good fit.
Anytime stuff gets displayed instead of sitting in a closet, that's the best possible scenario as far as I'm concerned.

Chris,

That is so neat. I would love to see it. Maybe the next time your in there take a picture of it and post it for us.

Excellent story Chris!!! I was wondering how to approach my dog's vet, as he has a 1700"s home/office with a bit of land to it. It gives me an idea. That's great PR.
Thanks for that, (What part of Ma are you from Chris?)
