I got a custom set of headphones, they work great on my Deleon, My Eldorado, my dad's MXT, but they won't work on my NEW X 70! I have been using a cheap set, they work great on the X 70's, so I cut the plug off this custom set, and got a new end, and wired it just like the molded on end, Black to ground, white to middle, and red to out, no work, then I swapped the white and red, no go, then one at a time I un down them tryed them changed them again, no matter how i wired them, they would still work on my other detectors, but not the X 70!
The only wire I never changed was the Black ground, anyone have a clue of what is wrong. I will be grate full for some help!
Thanks Greg

Minelab detectors require a stereo headphone jack. Some other detectors work with Mono jacks. If your other detectors worked with this new set of Custom Made Headphones, all you might have needed was a Mono to Stereo adapter plug from Radio Shack.SomeOne Please correct me if I am wrong...
If the old plug had one line,,,,it is mono.....2 lines it is stereo. If you do not understand what I am talking about .Please scroll this page or one of the next 2 for posts about headphones. On one of Barnicle Bills posts. He explaned it to me very well.

Don't Give Up,,,,,and,,,,,,Good Luck

It had a sterero plug on it, but it was longer than the plug on the set of phones that work on the X 70, I have wired up the head phone jack everyway i can,and no go, I have a OLD PAIR OF BELL & HOWEL phones that are MONO and they work fine on the X 70, but won't work with any other detectors I have! Go Figure!
I do want to thank everyone that has tryed to help me! Looks like I just won't use my good set on my X 70, and that is killing me. My plans were to learn the X 70 and never use my others unless something went wrong with the 70. O well!!
Thanks Again

only on the side that the wires come in, only two wires being used, Black and red, red wire is hooked to the left post of the volume control, middle is connectec to the center pole, the black is hooked to the right hand post, they both cross over to the other side, dual volume control, does any one have any thoughts for me! Any help I will be great full for.
Sincerly Greg Collins

If not, copy image and paste into a "Paint" program and edit. For now we know it's a mono headphone set. And I assume there is a separate volume control on each cup
