I have started relic hunting part time within the last 2 years. I usually hunt the beaches. Anyway I have been hunting this old site and have found my first seated dime and a 2 cent piece and some indian head pennies. I have been hunting in discrimination because there is so much trash. I really like finding the old coins but would also like to find the buttons and other relics. What would you suggest to a newbie about setting their machine for trashy areas. Thanks, Diane

The hard truth of relic hunting is DIG EVERYTHING, to many goodies to miss otherwise. Always hunt with 0 disc myself .. others may have some ideas for you

I always hunt on land with an open screen with just the corner blacked out to remove nails and small iron. After a while you get to know what signals are safe to leave - just like beach detecting .
