I would call the local store manager and explain the situation. Get a new machine though, don't try replacing parts yourself. You don't want to do anything that might make the machine look like it has been taken apart. That could void your warranty. If you mention calling Bentonville with your problem, you get much better results at Wal-Mart. Are the stores now stocking these machines, or are they available online only?

Hello,

Who decided it was not packaged properly?. That sounds like something a UPS claims investigator would say when you filed a damage complaint. If it was in the original shipping container than it should have been considered properly packaged . Anyone else had a claim denied due to IMPROPER PACKAGING? My advice would be contact Wal-Mart and ask for a replacement since they packaged the item for shipment. Did the box show any signs of rough handling?

Thanks,

Leo

Leo ? Do you think the original detectors box as you see in the store on shelf is good secured shipping container ? I had ordered detectors before from net and it came nicely packaged in other bigger box stuffed with some soft papers for protection. This came not and shows rough handling. Thank you...

Oh Boy, if you take it back to Walmart, they won't have a replacement for you and you will have to get your money back. I would call, yes call...the company and explain what happened and see if you can get it serviced there.

Ironically, a co-worker of mine ordered one from Kellyco and it arrived in the same condition!! He of course called them and sent it back. They will be sending him a new one.

Most of the time dealers will put the original shipping box inside another box with no extra padding. I am sure there are exceptions but that is the way I have received most of my detectors and so far no damage. UPS (united package smashers) and the USPS (united states package smashers) can be pretty hard on packages at times. Sooner or later Wal-Mart will have the Omega's back in stock so maybe you can get them to send you a replacement later on down the road for the price you paid. Was the detector insured by the carrier? How was it shipped? I know what you are thinking, if you get your money back you will never find another one at that price. Wal-mart is pretty good to deal with when it comes to damaged goods so your best bet is to contact them to discuss your options. If all else fails you may do like some others have suggested and contact First Texas to see if there is anything they can do on their end. Mike Scott from Fisher/First Texas follows these forums and is always willing to help out if he can. If for some reason they cannot help, I am sure they can give you some good advice on what to do.

Good Luck,

Leo
