Hello All,
I currently live in Indianapolis, Indiana and have been trying all winter to find info on great hunting sites in the area. I have the Se (my first detector) and have only used it on the beach during vacation.(GREAT DETECTOR!!!)
The weather is breaking a bit here and I am starting to get the fever to get out there and detect. If anyone can help with some info I would greatly appreciate it
Good luck to you all and Thanks
Detectordano

I checked with the city and was given permission to detect at the parks. Also, a church has some property for sale (in the old part of town) and I asked the church and they gave me permission, headed there in a bit. Taking my daughter to the county library so she can look at some books and I will check out the old maps. As I am driving around I make note of old property, now vacant and look the information up on the county website to find out who owns the property so I can contact them.

I had another metal detector and upgraded to the Explorer SE a couple days ago, I will be headed back to the sites I have already been. I know I was missing stuff with the other detector.

Thank for the response, are you local to Indianapolis if so I would enjoy meeting you and sharing some notes on the area and the SE

Another 5 hours on the SE and I got the pin pointing down.

Sorry I am in South Carolina, although I have stayed in Indy several times for different courses with the Army.

One way to work on pin pointing is have someone tape a coin to the back of a big piece of carboard and place it on the ground, coin side down. Then pin point and when you think you have it, poke a needle into the cardboard and see how close you are to the coin.
