Had a nice afternoon hunt today at an old park. I almost wore a blister on my palm digging these today with my lesche. I have been digging a lot of deep targets lately. I measured the two mercs at 7" and the 1897 barber was 9.5-10" deep in dirt/rocks/clay. Thinking about buying something like the Lesche ground shark.
The silver ring was only a few inches deep. It ID'd as a dime. I usually dig clad because the deep targets in this park are sparse.
The funny thing today was that I saw quite a few fresh plugs. They looked to be from this morning. When I would get near them, my Explorer would start acting squirrelly with a large high pitched signal with a long null. That usually happens when I go over a buried power line. I saw no fewer than four 10" diameter plugs over buried cables in one area of the park. The funny thing was that those were the only plugs I saw. Some guy had a machine that was probably telling him he had a quarter under coil. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me four times, shame on me. I will follow this guy any day.
