Need help from anyone who has shipped a detector to Mexico they sold!!!!!!!

Is there a problem getting it there by using USPS and did it get to the end customer? Please advise. Thanks for your help.

Hi Jim.
Elki here.
few months ago I was trying to send a new detector to Mexico and found out that it's not so easy.
It was a new Bliss and one of the dealer here was going to do the shipping but didn't worked out because a problem with the liability and insecure of the shipment it self.
Customs is a trouble too but this is the hint, the buyer has to provide you with the Customs destination where he or she are going to pick up the unit because it has to pass trough Customs.
I know for a fact that Withe's Electronics ships directly to a personal buyer in Mexico all the time but again the buyer has to go to the customs office to pay the taxes for and pick it up.
So If someone is interested on purchising a detector from here It needs to know where is it's closest customs office to get the needed information from them in order to place that order and you ship it to that customs office.

Jim,

Good advise from Elki.

Mexico as well as other countries have major problems with things getting where they are supposed to be and theres normally not a good way to track the item. I would be more comfortable sending to a hotel or Amex office or similar or as said....someone you know. I would be very careful about shipping to another country...unless they can accurately track it.

I didn't sell the detector to that person. I really don't trust sending anything of great value to and area I don't know. But I new there were folks out there that may have tried. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks again for the post. HH to all Jim

Try sending Rattlesnake meat to Europe for the first time ever they had seen it. No USDA form, was told to use the same as that for yogurt. The buyer told me to make up my own, using the USDA seal off of Corel Draw, and gave me a South African form to copy. Didn't want to get sideways with the feds, so, used the yogurt one, like they suggested.

Germans intercepted the frozen snake meat and embargoed it at Frankfort. Fortunately, my mother's family came from there in 1890, so, after going to the book store and buying a German Dictionary and Verb book, sending several faxes, in really crappy German, and a WHOLE bunch of prayer, it finally shipped out after three days in Frankfort to Belgium. Belgium equivalent to our Secretary of Ag, was out of the country, and the 2nd in command didn't want to sign off on it with the Germans.

Good luck on the detector. Personally, I would be hesitant to do it. Perhaps as suggested to the customs, but what a pain.
