Need info on the 10.5kHz coil on the Xterra-70

Besides the stock coil that came with the detector I also have the 3kHz and the 5X10 18.75 kHz. I am thinking about buying the 10.5 coil 7.5kHz. Can anyone tell me what they think about this coil on the X-Terra 70. Likes and dislikes, any good on deep coils. I live in Michigan and the soil conditions are not bad here. I mostly hunt for coins and jewlery.

Sounds like in your ground you might gain a little depth over the stock coil. Guess I did'nt give my stock coil a chance, I have had the 10.5 7.5kHz on since day one. I dig buttons & bullets at over 10" deep in my ground here in MO. You will gain a little more ground coverage with it thou............MO

I enjoy mine a lot. It hits coins nice and deep here in middle Ga. The soil can range from dark red clay with quartz in it to deep dark loamy dirt. I've dug most all my deepest coins with the 10.5 DD medium frequency coil. Hit a quarter at 10-11 inches and many other clad up to that deep. I do like pinpointing with it. The target is always right at the outer edge of the detection field when the signal falls off. If I had just one coil and that was all I could have it would be a toss up between this one and the 3khz coil, probably myself leaning towards the DD if I could only have one. Great all around coil.

10.5 DD coil 7.5kHz:

It sure will keep you digging old rusty deep bottle caps! They come back high tone number 42 every time?

You will need to learn some tricks to shake them off or dig them all, although everyone that hates bottle caps will love you for it!

About 10 inches is the depth to expect on a silver quarter! It has good response to small jewelry also.

I would think the 9 inch 3khz concentric coil would work best on deep silver in trash, try keeping the coil about 4 inches off the ground in high trash area this will amount to hunting with a 5 inch coil because of the cone shape detecting pattern, just overlap your swing by at least 1/2, this is something you can
