Need new lower shaft for Explorer XS...any advice???

Hey everyone,
Well, I'm sitting over here in Iraq daydreaming about detecting this spring after I get home and I thought of my equipment and remembered a minor problem. The lower shaft that my 10.5" coil's on is getting pretty wobbly on the bottom where the coil mounts. Somebody else has had to experience this also and I was wondering if there was a fix for this or if anyone knows where I can find a new lower shaft as Minelab is no longer producing them. I also heard that the carbon fiber Explorer II lower shaft will fit in an S or XS upper shaft. Is this a fact?

It's not a major emergency at this point because I have another shaft that has hardly been used that has an 8" coil on it....so I can simply put my 10.5" on that in the meantime.

Thanks in advance for any help and Happy Hunting.

Many of the lower shaft of the XS got a bit of a wobble and find that is the little insert that goes in the rod that is where the wobble is. I took mine and pulled out the 2 little black pin and the inserts so it would come out of the shaft and put fast drying Epoxy you mix on it and put it all back together and wipe off the extra epoxy and it is as good if not better than new.
The new shaft for the XS 2 will also work with no problem as they are the replacements for the XS shafts. I like the XS shaft on my XS II and have all 4 of my coil mounted on the XS shaft as I like the groves where the cable sits so coil changing is so easy and fast, less than 10 seconds.

Thanks for serving our great county and make it back here safely, there is many great treasure await you.
